THE BONEYARD

A Reality Television Series
By
Julie Bourne & Richard Huvard

They come to his house from all over the country, from all over the world. Elite Pros and scrappy kids alike-- to ride and train with “the man”. It’s “The Boneyard”-- two dusty acres of backyard racetrack, dirt jumps and weight benches behind an unsupposing ranch house in sunny Southern California. And the dude they’ve traveled far and wide to see? He’s the “Voice of BMX”, the Olympic announcer and commentator, the legendary trainer, motivator and Pied Piper of BMX—the one and only Mike Redman. Or as he’s simply known and loved throughout the BMX world… “Redbone”.

Living, riding and partying in Redbone’s ultimate BMX house, these kids are where snowboarders were a few years ago. Only now their passion, their sport-- a sport that, like Redbone, has just managed to survive through the years-- has finally jumped onto the world and Olympic stage.

With the 2012 London Games fast approaching, we’ll follow Redbone and a dozen young athletes as Redbone calls the action in the house and at all the big BMX races—around the country and around the world.  And we’ll get to know the young guns and fast girls who take up residence at The Boneyard as they live, love and fight to qualify for a spot on their country’s Olympic BMX team, determined to take London by storm.

But there’s more than Olympic glory on the horizon, there’s a major cash prize on the line—the finish line, that is! To win, the riders will compete in extreme training exercises and races on the Boneyard track to earn their rank in the house and collect bones. The better they place the more bones they earn. And when tensions run high, riders can wager and earn even more bones by challenging each other to a one-on-one race. Run out of bones and you’re booted from The Boneyard.  Finish the season with the most bones and you take it all—the Grand Prize! What will they do? Play it safe and go for the gold, or air it out and go for the bones?

Tune in to "The Boneyard" and see who will “Bury the competition.”
