Musician's Life

Musician, Andy Palacio in Belize. His life's mission was to help save a dying culture called Garifuna, through his music. The Garifuna culture and traditions were disappearing with the eldest of the country, and the assimilation to the modern world drove the Garifuna to abandon the traditions that Palacio had just discovered. In 2003, the Garifuna Culture was proclaimed a Masterpiece of Intangible Heritage of Humanity, by the UNESCO. In September 2007 Palacio was declared UNESCO Artist for Peace. On March 14, 2007, Palacio released his last studio album, Watina. On Jan/19/2008, Andy died. This video is a tribute to this amazing musician's life and his passion about his people and their traditions.
